Acupuncture and Chinese herbs help
reduce Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and improve the function
of reproductive systems.
Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (
FSH hormone)is produced by gonadotrophs in the anterior pituitary
gland. It is essential for reproduction. In female, FSH hormone
stimulates the menstrual cycles and egg production by ovaries. In
ovary FSH stimulates the maturation of follicles, so the highest
level of FSH usually is before ovulation. In male, FSH hormone
enhances the production of sperm. Follicle Stimulating hormone
usually is a measurement to determine either the function of ovaries
or testicles is normal or not. Therefore, FSH hormone test is
commonly applied for infertility. In the other words, FSH hormone
test helps to evaluate

the egg supply
or sperm count,

menstrual cycle
problems, such as amenorrhea or menopause.

Early or delayed
puberty. In girls, starts younger than age 9, in boys younger than
10 considered early puberty.

Pituitary gland
disorders, such as tumors.
When infertility conditions
happened, the analysis of ovarian reserve would be applied. The
ovarian reserve refers to the amount of eggs available for
fertilization. A higher ovarian reserve indicates more available
eggs. The ovarian reserve test usually relies on the measurement of
FSH hormone and estradiol level. Age, heavy smoking, and hormonal
medications are the most common reasons affect the FSH level.
A normal FSH level is under
10, between10 to 25 is considered borderline, above 25 is abnormal.
Estradiol level usually tested
along with FSH hormone. Estradiol is one of the estrogens that
produced by the ovaries. If estradiol level is above 75 indicates a
poor ovarian reserve.
A higher FSH level test result
might indicate: Premature ovarian failure (POF), polycystic ovarian
syndrome (PCOS), and menopause.
A lower FSH level test result
might indicate: Pituitary disorder, stress, and low body weight.
Infertility treatments may
suggested when FSH level elevated, because the delays may result no
conceiving and donor egg consideration.
But FSH tests are not the “
END” to pregnancy. Even with the elevated FSH level, it does not
mean you won’t have a chance to get pregnant. In lots of cases
